Photography
I've worked with film and digital photography. With this medium I aim to tell a story a single frame. I aim to create images that capture the depth and weight of the world around us. Walker Evans and Stephen Shore have influenced my Photographs.
Film
In my Photo 1 class I documented what I found interesting in my neighborhood. With this exploration I found myself capturing places that seem familiar and unfamiliar. I wanted to capture a typical suburban area while paying attention to what may be overlooked.
Digital
In my digital photography I have the opportunity to work on multiple projects simultaneously around one another. I’ve worked on many different projects through digital photography. These projects capture what I like to do with the medium.

Graduation Party
In the summer of 2014 my cousin graduated from high school. At his graduation party I decided to take photographs with a fine art approach. Having been three weeks into my internship at the time, I was eager to apply more about what I had been learning about photography to capture the event in the best way I saw fit. My main goal was to document what my cousin was doing throughout the day and secure a chronology of what he did during the party. I also aimed to get portraits of family at this time. I also took untraditional shots by taking photos of people from above. The photographs showcased here is an example of my take on event photography.
Distracted
My internship during the summer of 2014 gave me the chance to take on a new project. After some brainstorming I thought about distractions and how much attention spans have been decreasing with the rise of social media. I decided to pursue a photo series based on distractions. To acquire images based on this idea I thought about how concentration differs from distraction and what can make part of a photo distracting. I’ve been thinking of expanding this series.
Self Portraits
In the summer of 2014, while learning about photographers, I found their self-portraits to be the most unique in their body of work. I began a series of self-portraits to emulate some artists and pursue versions of my own. I occasionally am contemplating other ways to capture different kinds of self-portraits.
Video Game Photographs
I took these photos in the video game The Last of Us: Remastered on Playstation 4. My goal with this project is to bring emotional depth to these virtually programmed characters.
